Freelance Writing Side Hustle

The hustle continues! Albeit slowly but surely. If you haven’t seen my Tweets  make sure to check out my latest piece for Alternative Media, Money and Marriage: Financial Questions to Ask Before You Say I Do. It was featured as a guest post on the Get Liquid financial blog.

I’ve also written a few things here and there for Yahoo News and have some guest posts that will be published soon. In addition, I’ve been snooping around Media Bistro and have come up with a long list of publications where I will be sending pitches to. My goal is one good pitch per weekend and I will definitely update you all on my progress.

Photo a Day Challenge

A few days ago I stumbled across this post over on the Goodlife Zen blog. It was about how doing something small for 30 days can help form new habits and enjoy your life a little more. Consequently I decided that I would try this challenge for myself.

I’m starting small, just taking a photo a day with my iPod Touch (don’t worry, I got 4 times the miles for that purchase) for 30 days. Normally I would have waited until the 1st of the month but I figured why delay it? Even something as simple as taking a picture can help you appreciate your surroundings just a little more and hopefully I’ll be able to keep it up for more than 30 days.

Brazen Careerist on CNN

A big congratulations to Brazen Careerist for being featured this week on CNN! They’ve really broken the mold when it comes to Gen Y, job hunting and networking and I am so proud to be a part of their contributor network!

If you haven’t already checked out their network roulette, blog, or other events, what are you waiting for?!?!? Seriously, you’re missing out on some great opportunities.

Hitting The Hills in the UK

One of my blogger friends, Lip Richardson, has got yet another amazing project underway: he, along with a friend, will be trekking 350 miles around Scotland aiming to raise money for their boxing club. Did I mention they would be walking? Yeah, talk about a project!  Although they don’t officially set off until August 25th they have already begun documenting their adventures over on the Hitting the Hills blog. Check them out!

Gen Y Faves from Across the Web

I’m always finding stuff all over the internet that might interest Gen Y. From bloggers to columnists and everything in between here is some cool stuff I’ve stumbled upon this week.
