Fitness Challenge: Power 90 Workout

I figured it had been a while since I had written up a fitness related health post. Consequently it has also been a while since I have done anything fitness related period.

So, in an effort to have some sort of routine without having any idea what I am doing, I have borrowed a friend’s Power 90 Workout. Many of you are probably well aware of the popular workout that proceeds, P90x, however that one looked kind of intense so I figured I would start from the beginning. Besides, I have no intention of getting absolutely ripped.

And so, for 90 days, amid a crazy work/life schedule that is constantly changing, I will attempt to follow the fitness routines outlined in the handy dandy P90 calendar.

Today was Day 1.

Join me!

I need accountability, and while this blog serves as a great tool, I’m afraid I don’t have time to blog everyday. Nor would I want to bore you all with daily updates of workouts.

And so I urge any of you to join me on this journey and we can make our own social fitness group complete with a Google calendar and weekly phone calls. This is actually a phenomenal idea that I read about in Jenny Blake’s Life After College Book and I believe we can really help each other out. If you are interested, feel free to shoot me an email at abella [dot] amanda [at] gmail [dot] com (sorry for the format, don’t want any spammers).

What are your fitness goals?

When starting a routine, you should always outline your goals. Keep in mind that not every fitness goal has to be about losing weight. Take it from me, even skinny girls can be completely out of shape. Your goals should revolve around your overall long term health, aesthetics are just a benefit that comes with the package :)

Need an example?

My goal is simple: get in the habit of exercising in order to promote long term health. Toning is definitely a goal of mine as well.

So what are you waiting for? You’ve got a long life ahead of you so you might as well start getting healthy ASAP.

My goal is to be good to myself. I know that sounds cheesy, but this means things like taking 10 minutes to pack my lunch and going to yoga!

  2. Hey girl! I just found your blog from 20 something bloggers! I’ve done p90x on an off (not for a solid 90 days, just when I’m looking to mix up my workout routine!) and it’s pretty fun! My brother and his wife did power 90 and I know they really liked it. I did a few of the workouts with them and honestly they were pretty similar to p90x! Good luck with it :)

    • I wish I could stay consistent enough for a whole 90 days! Unfortunately sometimes 12 hour work days get in the way :( However, for any day that I have time I will definitely do it! I’ve only done it for a couple of days but I actually really enjoy it :)
